2022 Summer Activities for Youth

AZ OnTrack

AZ OnTrack Summer Camp will enrich, advance, and connect eligible Arizona students in the ways they need to help them enter the 2022-23 school year with greater excitement and confidence. Register your students for up to 8 weeks of learning adventures. 

Cost:  $0 - FREE

Ages: Pre-K through 12th grade

Dates: Camps will begin as early as June and continue throughout the summer.

Cyber Bootcamp

AZ Cyber Initiative - One-week introductory course for rising 10th-12th grade high school students interested in pursuing a career in a cybersecurity-related field. 

Cost:  $0 - FREE for all AZ high school students

Ages: 13-18

Dates: May 31-June 3, June 6 - 10, June 20-24

Locations: Pima JTED, Bridges Campus, Pima Community College, East Campus, University of Arizona, Eller College of Management 

Go Grrrls

Go Grrrls is designed to give girl-identified youth in grades 6-8 the skills and knowledge they need to plan for a future of success.

Cost:  $0 - FREE!

Ages: Grades 6 - 8

Dates: June 6th - 10th; July 11th - 15th

Deadline to register for the June Camp is: May 26, Deadline for the July Camp: June 29.

Locations: :  Child & Family Resources Office at 2800 E Broadway Blvd

Museum Explorers

Sonoran Desert Museum - Campers will explore science and nature, and make cool crafts. Campers will leave with activities to help wildlife and explore nature in their own lives. Camp is rounded out with lunch time, stories and songs, and play.

Cost:  $0 - $245 Museum Members/ $265 Non members

Ages: 6-10

Dates: June 13-17; June 20-24

Saguaro National Park Summer Youth Employment Program

Saguaro National Park is once again accepting applications to join an 8-week, summer Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) program for teens, ages 16-18, consisting of three main components: conservation work, environmental education, and outdoor recreation.

PAID!!!

Ages: 16-18

Dates: June 6 - July 29

Locations: Saguaro National Park

Deadline: April 30th

Swimming Lessons

Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation and the TMC Vest It UP! program have come together to offer 800 free swim lessons to children at three Pima County locations. In addition, every child participating will receive a free lifejacket.

Cost: $0 - FREE!

Ages: 3.5 years and older

Locations: 

Kino Pool, 2805 E. Ajo Way

Los Niños Pool, 5432 S. Bryant Ave.

Flowing Wells Pool, 4545 N. La Cholla Blvd.

Registration for June lessons  is closed.

Registration for July lessons begins Tuesday, June 14, at 6 a.m.

The Cultures of Tucson Summer Camp

Presidio San Agustín del Tucson Museum - Participants will learn about the history and culture of the Tucson area through a series of hands-on activities that may include making adobe bricks by hand, learning traditional stories and making soap from native plants. 

Cost:  Member Price: $265/Non-member Price: $290 

Ages: 5-11

Dates: June 20-24

TRIANGLE Y RANCH CAMP

YMCA - At Tri-Y your kids will reconnect with nature as they explore the great outdoors during archery, horseback riding and hikes. Swimming, and craft making are also on the agenda.

Cost:  $700 per session.  A $50 deposit required per camper per session. Full payment due 2 weeks prior to start of session. Custom payment plans can be scheduled and additional assistance is available.

*We want to help everyone participate in the programs we offer, even if they seem out of reach financially. We pledge that, based on available resources, no child will be turned away due to an inability to pay a fee.

Ages: 7-17

Dates: June 5-10; June 12-17; July 3-8; July 10-15; July 17-22; July 24-29

Tucson Parks and Rec KIDCO Summer Camps

Tucson Parks and Recreation is offering a full array of indoor leisure classes and KIDCO camps this summer. Classes range from arts and crafts, Little Movers and Shakers, dance, gymnastics, jewelry making, music, sports, and more.

Cost:  The Discount Program is available for camps to those who qualify.

Ages: 5-11

Dates: Depends on camp.

Locations: 16 locations in Centers and Tucson Unified and Amphitheater school districts.

UA Summer Law Camp

The James E. Rogers College of Law’s B.A. in Law Program invites all high school students to: Learn about the impact of law and justice â–ª Interact with College of Law faculty and staff, and community leaders â–ª Practice your skills in designated workshops â–ª Discover innovative and one-of-a-kind programs and opportunities!

Cost:  $0 - FREE!

Youth Center Summer Camp @ Literacy Connects

Literacy Connects - This Summer Camp is an entirely student-produced celebration of creative expression! Youth write stories, then collaborate to conceptualize and produce those stories as short plays and films. The Camp Showcase is a variety show of original stories written and performed by campers!

Cost:  $0 - FREE!

Ages: 11-14

Dates: June 6-10; June 13-17; June 20-24; June 27-30
