Tucson Pima Collaboration to End Homelessness Heat Respite Centers

The Tucson Pima Collaboration to End Homelessness (TPCH) operates many existing Heat Respite Centers within Tucson, providing snacks and water, places to sit and rest, and other health and medical resources. They have also create a map showing Cooling Centers, Splash Pads, and other resources!

City of Tucson Cooling Centers

When temperatures reach 110 degrees, the City of Tucson will open six cooling center locations, one in each Ward. The centers will be open from noon-4 p.m.

These locations will be open on any day when temperatures are expected to reach 110 degrees.

The Pima County Health Department (PCHD) and the Pima County Public Library Department have identified several library locations that can be used for heat respite.

Pima County Health Department Public Library Heat Respite Locations:

The Pima County Health Department (PCHD) and Pima County Community & Workforce Development have week Pima County are offering heat relief services at the Kino Service Center. In addition to providing a safe, air-conditioned space to take shelter from extreme heat, the center will provide bottled water, sunscreen, and COVID care kits, which include masks and a COVID test kit, to anyone who wants them. 

This location will be open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., excluding holidays.
